Aaruhi was dancing with her soulmate, her feet moving effortlessly to the rhythm of the music. A warm breeze surrounded them as they twirled together, her hands resting gently in his. She couldn't see his face, but there was a strange familiarity in his touch, a feeling of belonging. The world around them felt distant, as if only they existed in that moment. Her heart pounded with excitement as she finally lifted her gaze, ready to see him.
Just as she was about to see his face, something strange happened. It felt like she was drowning in water. Her breath became heavy, and everything around her started to blur.
Suddenly, she woke up with a shock! Cold water dripped from her face and clothes. Confused, she looked around and saw her little sister standing nearby, laughing.
"I had to wake you up! You wouldn’t get up!" her sister said playfully, holding an empty glass in her hand.
Aaruhi sighed, wiping her face. "You ruined my dream!" she said, half-annoyed, half-smiling.
Her sister just giggled and ran away, while Aaruhi sat there, wondering, who was the person in her dream?
Her sister shook her head, still smiling. "Mumma is calling you downstairs for the puja. Today is a very special day," she said before running off.
Aaruhi sat on her bed for a moment, staring at the ceiling. Why does this dream keep coming to me again and again? she wondered. For her, this dream was the only place where she could be truly happy, free from all responsibilities. Outside of it, only one thing remained in her mind, the role of the eldest daughter, the one who had to take care of the family, the one who carried responsibilities on her shoulders. She had always looked after her younger siblings like a second mother.
"Oh no, not again! Why do I always end up thinking about the same thing?" she muttered, shaking her head. Pushing her thoughts aside, she quickly got ready. She wore a beautiful Indian suit with a matching salwar and hurried downstairs to join the family for the puja.
Her mother performed the puja while Aaruhi sang a beautiful Krishna bhajan.
"Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari". Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari,
Hey Nath Narayan Vasudeva!
Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari,
Hey Nath Narayan Vasudeva!
Tu Hi Brahma, Tu Hi Vishnu,
Tu Hi Jag Ke Pranadhara,
Hey Nath Narayan Vasudeva!
Bhakt Jano Ke Jeevan Sahare,
Dukh Haran, Sukh Data Tum Ho,
Kripa Drishti Rakhna Ham Par,
Tum Bin Kaun Hamara?
Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari,
Hey Nath Narayan Vasudeva!
Everyone joined together for the aarti, singing with devotion. After the aarti, Aruhi’s mother distributed prasad to everyone.
After the prayers, she followed her usual routine, helping her mother in the kitchen. Once everything was ready, the family gathered around the dining table for breakfast.
Just as Aaruhi took her first bite, her little sister grinned and said, "Di, you were lost in your dream again, weren’t you?"
Everyone burst into laughter, teasing her playfully. But no one knew what kind of dream it was.
Curious, they all started guessing her parents, her brother, and even her little sister. Each one came up with different ideas, trying to figure it out. But no matter how much they guessed, no one could truly understand the dream that only belonged to Aaruhi.
Today was the day Aruhi’s entrance exam result was going to be announced, and she was extremely nervous. Her parents noticed her anxiety and gently reassured her, saying, "Everything will be fine."
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Aaruhi hurried to open it, her heart pounding. As she opened the door, she saw her best friend standing there, smiling brightly, holding a box of sweets in her hands.
Without saying a word, her friend rushed forward and hugged her tightly. "Aaruhi, you did it!" she exclaimed with excitement. "You cleared the exam! You got admission to a top college in Delhi, and you even received a scholarship!"
For a moment, Aaruhi stood in shock, unable to believe what she had just heard. Then, as the news sank in, joy filled the house. Her family cheered, laughed, and celebrated, overwhelmed with happiness.
Aaruhi closed her eyes for a moment and thanked Lord Krishna for His blessings. Then, she touched her parents' feet and took their blessings. Her siblings surrounded her, giving her warm wishes and hugs.
Everyone was overjoyed. Their eldest daughter had achieved this success all on her own, and the pride in their eyes was undeniable. The house was filled with happiness, laughter, and celebration.
